WHAT: Invites FULL Coverage of the Critical Illness Trust Fund /Wine & Cheese Event
WHEN : Sunday, October 5, 2025 @ 6pm
WHERE: Shortwood Teachers’ College, 77 Shortwood Road, Kingston 8 -------------------------------------------- In Jamaica, we still grapple with the health and wellness of our teachers. The JTA's Critical Illness Trust Fund was created in 2019, with a mission to provide support to teachers affected by lifestyle diseases, helping to cover their health-related expenses. While traditional health insurance offers a safety net, it often falls short when faced with the overwhelming costs associated with these serious conditions. The Critical Illness Trust Fund steps in to cover these gaps by providing pay-outs that help manage the exorbitant medical expenses that arise.
The fund is invaluable as it covers specific, high-cost illnesses that can quickly outstrip a family's regular health insurance. The burden of unexpected medical bills can be devastating for teachers, who dedicate their lives to shaping future generations. Without sufficient savings or an emergency fund, these hardworking professionals may find it nearly impossible to cover the expenses. This is why the Critical Illness Fund for Teachers is so vital it offers them the financial support they need during some of life's most challenging moments.
The JTA and the Critical Illness trust Fund invites sponsors or donors towards this years fund raiser while offering partners a unique chance to connect with a diverse audience while supporting an initiative that resonates deeply with their values. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Critical Illness Fund.
