Nadine T. Scott, Ph.D


Dr. Nadine Scott, Principal, Excelsior Community College, Trustee and Past President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association died last night, May 4, 2014.

Dr. Scott served as President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association for the period September 1999 to August 2000 and was the sixth female President.  She was the third Principal of the Excelsior Community College.



Before becoming Principal of the college, she was a lecturer at the Institute of Education, UWI and before that, Principal Lecturer and Head of the Art Department of St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College.

Dr. Scott represented the JTA at many international conferences and was a member of the Planning Committee for Education International’s Higher Education Conference.  She also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Caribbean Union of Teachers.

The JTA extends deep sympathy and condolences to her family, relatives, the Excelsior Community College family and her colleagues at the JTA. May God grant her His eternal rest.
