The Jamaica Teachers’ Association is saddened by the passing of Hon. Dr. Joyce Robinson who died this morning. Dr. Joyce Robinson was an outstanding public servant. She was among that group of phenomenon Jamaican women who gave service to country above self. She placed her significant mark on a number of public institutions which continue to serve the people of this country. Among these are the Jamaica Library Service, HEART Trust/NTA, and JAMAL( now the Jamaica Foundation for Lifelong Learning).
The Jamaica Library Service which she headed for many years has provided children and adults through the network of parish libraries opportunities expand their horizons through books.
The JTA leadership and its members extend condolences to her family, colleagues and friends. We salute her and the contribution she made to the country over the many years of public service.
