Mr. John Searchwell, outstanding educator, has died. 

Mr. Searchwell died at his home at Highgate, St. Mary on Friday, March 28, one month before his 96th birthday. 

 

Prior to joining the JTA, he was a member of an organization known as the Association of Assistant Masters and Mistresses (A2 M2). He became a President of the JTA in 1972 and later joined the distinguished group of Past Presidents of the JTA until his death. 

Mr. Searchwell is a former principal of Happy Grove High school, Portland and, a former teacher at St. Mary High School.

The Presidents, Staff and members of the JTA extend deep sympathy to his children, other members of his family, and relatives.

May his soul rest in peace.
