The charge was given by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, Dr. Maurice Smith.

He made the call while addressing the opening session of the workshop underway at the Jamaica College in Kingston, under the theme "Reconceptualizing the Role of Middle Managers: creating a Paradigm shift".

According to Dr. Smith; educators, particularly Middle Managers should understand that the students are the most important Human Resources in education institutions, as without one then the other is not.

Dr Smith also suggested that members of the Education System should also appreciate the role Middle Managers play in schools.

He said the role of Middle Managers must be seen in the context of as important as the school principal, noting that the success of any school is not the sole duty of the principal but too, the role played by all stakeholders, particularly Middle Managers.
